On March 3, 2005, the Ark of Love was created in Lima, following a conference given by Swami Sarveshwarananda Giri about the different activities of the Ark of Love in Brazil, India and Colombia.
In May 2005, a contact is made with Aldeas Infantiles SOS (Children’s Villages SOS); in July of the same year and in coordination with the Director of the center Luz Espinosa, we start our first volunteer activities.
In 2006 our coordinator for Lima, Mrs. Liliana Galvan, contacts the ladies of the soup kitchen “Sagrado Corazon de Jesus” (Sacred Heart of Jesus) in Villa Libertad, in a neighborhood situated in the Surco district. This was the birth of our activities with the children of these ladies, with a group of volunteers from the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas UPC (Peruvian University of Applied Sciences.)
Some of our activities involve wisdom tales, mandalas, juggling, yoga, and theater.
