How it all started
(as told by our coordinator Carmen Ortega)
"We started our ARK OF LOVE work in Colombia on Friday October 18th, 2002, with a group of kriyavan volunteers helping at Fundación Hogar Nueva Granada. FHNG is a preschool and kindergarten school founded in 2001 by private non-confessional school Nueva Granada for very poor children living in its vicinity.

Here there are also young children who have AIDS and who have been abandoned by their parents. Children receive education and two meals daily.
Our volunteers all attend the school at different times of the day and teach various subjects such as: singing, dancing, hatha yoga, relaxation exercises, cooking, pottery, human values, and we tell them stories of saints and the Bible.

The children are all very different. Some are very sweet and gentle, other timid, rebellious and aggressive but they are all beautiful creatures of God waiting for us to share our love. We start every class by singing OM and then, with the participation of the children, we offer a prayer to God. We all try to be very loving with the children. The principal and teachers have seen the change of the children when we come and have asked us to please continue working with them."
